Kinda desperate here and typing this on my dad's laptop. I have multiple assignments and tests to do for my summer course before my vacation flight and im very very strapped for time thanks to my procrastination.

Anyways, I got home today and hooked up my 2014 (or 13?) 13inch macbook pro to the hdmi cable on my TV and then I saw that I couldn't click on anything. I could move my cursor around and switch between tabs and do other things like starting the task manager, but I just couldn't click on anything with the trackpad.
I did a shutdown by holding the power button, and then i started it up again by pressing the power button, but again it doesn't work and this time I can't even log in because of it! I tried hooking up a mouse to it, I tried hooking it back up to the TV and then pulling it out again, and none of them worked.
Also, if I can't find an answer here im gonna take it to the apple store tomorrow ASAP because I really need to get my work done, and I remember that I bought a warranty along with my macbook but my question is how can I prove that i bought the warranty? Can they just look at my macbook number and see if I have it or not? I don't have anything left over from when I bought the laptop.

Edit: Some more weird things. I went back to check on it and saw that the log in screen is still open, which isn't normal because it always sleeps after a few seconds if its idle. Also, the first time i tried restarting, i remember i could move between the log in profiles with my arrow keys, but i cant even do that anymore.
